Here are 10 ideas for creating new and (kinda) quirky Christmas traditions for your family:

Christmas Tradition Idea #1: Swap out Santa for a wacky holiday character.

Let's be real – Santa is kind of overrated. If you want to create a modern, quirky Christmas tradition, why not swap out the big guy in red for a wacky holiday character? This could be anything from a giant gingerbread man to a mischievous elf to a goofy snowman. Just pick a character that fits your family's sense of humor, and have fun coming up with creative ways to incorporate them into your holiday activities.

Christmas Tradition Idea #2: Have a family ugly sweater competition.

Ugly Christmas sweaters are all the rage these days, and what better way to embrace the trend than by having a family ugly sweater competition? Get everyone in your family to dig out their most outrageous holiday sweaters and have a good laugh at each other's ridiculous outfits. You can even make it a friendly competition by voting on the best (or worst) sweater.

Christmas Tradition Idea #3: Make your own Christmas decorations.

Instead of buying generic store-bought decorations, why not get creative and make your own? If you’re anything like me and grew up with siblings, you always had someone around to spend time with. You were rarely alone, and even the thought of doing something by yourself is out of this world.
